The works of celebrated designers from Spain, among them - Agatha Ruíz de la Prada, Devota & Lomba, Roberto Torretta, Roberto Verino, Vitorio & Luchino - will be exhibited in a beautiful dynamic presentation conceived by the Association of Creative Designers of Spain. Madrid, a thriving cultural city and a “sister” of New York, is one of the most elegant and vibrant European capitals, where men and women instinctively understand fashion as an integral part of a person’s character and culture.

Admittance: $5 general admission; $3 for students and senior citizens; free for members

ART EXIBITION - November 28, 2007 – February 2, 2008

“Mallorcan Landscapes. The Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma Collection”

Based on a selection of works from Es Baluard’s permanent collection, the exhibition encompasses a series of works by 17 Mallorcan, Catalan and foreign artists with one common link: the island of Mallorca as protagonist.

The exhibition revolves around two themes: first, 21 oils painted between 1872 and 1934 that exemplify the diverse styles and trends in landscape painting on the island during this time and second, Joan Miró and his close ties to Mallorca, illustrated by a series of nine engravings.

Teaching students from The Manhattan School of Music and Mannes College of Music This class is free to all members of Queen Sofía Spanish Institute, all students of the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music, and former students of Sharon Isbin and their students. There will be a $15 charge for the general public.
